CME

Each operator can independently provide for their own update, prioritizing educational objectives of national and regional interest:

The C.M.E. (Continuing Medical Education) is precisely used to evaluate the educational events that healthcare professionals attend, ensuring the quality and usefulness of the events themselves.

Continuing Medical Education

The national Continuing Medical Education (C.M.E.) program was introduced by the Ministry of Health with the aim of encouraging and incentivizing operators in their efforts to adapt to the continuous development of knowledge and the constant technological innovation that characterizes the sector.

The C.M.E. program thus consists of the set of training activities promoted by scientific societies, hospital companies, or, as in the case of Winch, by structures specialized in healthcare training.

Continuing medical education includes the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and attitudes useful for competent and expert practice.

Healthcare professionals have an ethical obligation to apply new knowledge and skills to provide qualitatively useful care. Therefore, taking care of their patients with updated competencies, without conflicts of interest, in order to be a good healthcare professional.

The launch of the National CME Program in 2002, based on Legislative Decree 502/1992 integrated by Legislative Decree 229/1999, which had established the obligation of continuing education for healthcare professionals, represented a strong message in the healthcare world. The new phase of CME contains many innovations and is presented as a tool for designing a modern approach to the development and monitoring of individual competencies.

From January 1, 2008, with the entry into force of Law of December 24, 2007, no. 244, the administrative management of the CME program and the support to the National Commission for Continuing Education, until now competences of the Ministry of Health, have been transferred to the National Agency for Regional Health Services (Agenas).

Winch, a primary company in the field of analyses, skill development, and consultancy support in the health sector, has for years been implementing its own comprehensive training project focused on the professional evolution of operators in the area.

For nearly 30 years, Winch has been helping to interpret changes in a sector where education is an absolute value.

Since 2001, Winch has been a national CME provider, and since 2010, it has also been a provider of Distance Learning (DL) and Residential training according to the new Agenas accreditation.

Since 2013, Winch has been a Standard CME provider no. 26 under the Agreement of 19/04/2012 between the Government, the Regions, and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano.

The authority and completeness of the training proposals are guaranteed by a scientific board capable of meeting the training needs imposed by the challenges that health professionals face daily.

The national Commission identifies the educational objectives taking into account the Essential Levels of Assistance, the regional health plans, and the guidelines referred to in article 3 of the legislative decree no. 158/2012, converted with amendments by law no. 189/2012, and includes them in at least one of the following macro areas:

a) technical-professional training objectives;
b) process training objectives;
c) system training objectives.

Winch develops its training proposals in compliance with the objectives indicated by the Commission, structuring training programs in Residential mode, Distance Learning (DL), Blended Learning, and Individualized Training Pathways.
